Despite the current situation with the global Covid-19 pandemic, it is great to see 20 new publications released so far in 2021. Some of our new publications include music for solo instrument with piano accompaniment, duets, ensembles and beginner tutorial books for our family of pInstruments.
Warwick Music Publishing are proud to work with almost 200 international composers and would like to introduce you to some of our new composers.
Taiwanese-American composer Ying-Chen Kao’s (高盈真) music has been described as “exceedingly beautiful” in Soundboard magazine UK, a “challenging and rich work” in the Coral Gables Gazette, and “an evocative and surreal soundscape” on minor 7th.com. Her solo trombone works, ancient memory and Transmutation were commissioned for the 2008 Summer Trombone Workshop in Taiwan, where they were the obligatory repertoire for the competition. Ying-Chen received her B.M. in theory and composition from the University of Miami and M.M., Postgraduate Studies in composition from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
Peter Longworth has been a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama since 2018. Described as “dazzlingly-atmospheric” (the Glasgow Herald), Peter’s music has been performed internationally and ensembles who have commissioned his work include the London Mozart Players, the Edinburgh Quartet, the Hebrides Ensemble, and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.
Global Music Award Silver Medal winner, Dr. Jose Leonardo Leon is one of South Florida’s most active and versatile Bass and Tenor Trombonists and educators. Currently, Dr. Jose Leonardo Leon plays Tenor and Bass Trombone with Ft. Lauderdale’s Premier Orchestra The Symphony of the Americas, The Kravis Center Pops Orchestra in Palm Beach, Florida, and is an Adjunct Music Faculty Professor at Broward College and a Private Instructor of Trombone for the Gulliver Academy Performing Arts program in Miami, FL.
Ryan Linham is an active educator and composer/arranger, and the manager of the Symphonic Brass Ensemble Kensington Brass. Highly passionate about Brass chamber music, Ryan has been a member of many ensembles, and is also currently the resident arranger for 3 groups and a residential course with The Brass Academy.
