Each movement is influenced by an aspect of card play, for example, Aces High, Royal Flush and Wild Card (tempo di nascar). The work was specially composed for Don Lucas, Associate Professor of Music, Trombone. Chairman of Brass, Woodwind, & Percussion at Boston University College of Fine Arts.
Both challenging and humorous this work is ideal for a solo trombone recital either in its entirety or in individual movements.
