These duets are intended to be easy, fun, gently challenging and be of educational value for teachers and pupils alike. They start off at a pretty simple level, but get more challenging as they go, gradually working from a low-medium range to a higher mid-range. One of the main objectives is to get players used to listening to another, while at the same time, making sure of your own part, and in a register that is hopefully not too taxing on the lips. As with any endeavour, regular and persistent practice will bring about greater results, strength and endurance in your playing capabilities.

Each duet has it's own challenge, or combination of challenges, such as: rhythm, tricky slide movements and positions, breathing, pitching, tuning etc. There's no necessity to start at the beginning of this collection to work through methodically, although do feel free to do that if you wish. 

These duets have been written with the intention of developing a firm foundation for players' technical abilities and musical sense, so then you can go onto ever more rewarding duets and other music. Playing solos is very good, but never forget just how much benefit you can obtain from playing along with others too. The last few duets bring together the various aspects of playing. They all have their challenges. But I hope you enjoy working together on them all.
