This piece comes from the charming incidental music for Rosamunde, written in 1823. The entracte no. 3 contains material he had already written and used in the song "Der Leidende", and material he was using in the 2nd mvt. of his String Quartet in A minor D804, written around the same time. Later, he used part of the 3rd entracte in his Impromptu for piano in B-flat, D935. The fact that he used this music in several different instrumental combinations might support to my idea to arrange it for trombones, but all that aside, this piece just sounds good on trombones no matter what.
