Steve Verhelst’s “One for the Road” has been commissioned by the International Trombone Association. It is a four movement piece for 12 trombones (4 bass & 8 tenor) which are arranged in two choirs. The piece describes four different flavours of famous beers in Belgium. The movements are: Leffe Duvel Blonde Tripel There is no fixed order of the movements, the order in which they are tasted is entirely up to the performers but a suggested order would be: Leffe - Duvel - Blonde - Tripel. This is the order they appear in the publication.
The work is very suitable for an ensemble of college students of the trombone.
