This arrangement of Mozart’s Adagio for glass harmonica K 356 is for 3 trombones: 2 tenor trombones and a bass trombone. This arrangement produces an effect more like the trombone writing in Mozart’s Magic Flute but can be played on a standard trio of orchestral trombones i.e. not requiring the 1st trombone to be on an alto. The bigger chords, with more than three notes, have been simplified and, somewhat like the arpeggios on the glass harmonica, the overall effect is quite stately and solemn. Most importantly the arrangement can be used by players of a moderate standard and could be used for practice and/or performance purposes.
