This book of advanced studies for trombone is the third book in a series of study books that incorporate techniques peculiar to the trombone in addition to those shared by our other brass playing colleagues. Simple Studies on Trombone Technique was written for players of Grade 1 standard through to Grade 3 and Melodic Studies on Trombone Technique was written for players of Grade 4 standard through to Grade 8. This third book is designed for players of Grade 8+ standard. 

Advanced Studies on Trombone Technique is divided into a series of Daily Drills, Weekly Workouts and Monthly Etudes. There are 7 pairs of Daily Drills (a pair for each day of the week), 12 Weekly Workouts (one for each major key together with its relative minor) and 12 Monthly Etudes (one for every month of the year). 

The Daily Drills should be played along with the backing tracks in order to promote intonation and evenness in rhythm and a couple of the Monthly Etudes can be played with the accompaniment provided.
